Hours are 10 AM to 4 PM

A
mong the educational events will be an aquatic ecology talk that will include looking at water from the park's streams through a video microscope. Seeing the creatures up close that live in the pristine waters of the park is fascinating for all ages.

Historian Dr. Judith Bainbridge will be telling the story of Paris Mountain and the area before and after it became a park. In addition, there will be games for the younger children, such as a nature scavenger hunt.

There will be two mountain-trail runs: a fun-run and a 10K run for the more serious runner.  Friends T-shirts and scenic note cards of the park will be offered for the first time this year.  There will be a food vendor with light fare of sandwiches and other snacks. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own picnic lunch if you like.

A lake Ecotour is one of the activities scheduled for the day. This walk will be lead by Marie Burgess, Manager of Camps and Conference at Furman University. She will identify wildflowers and trees, talk about the ecology of the forest and present a short history of park as the group makes it’s way around the lake. All ages welcome.

Visitors paddled canoes in 2001.
