July 26

Water Fun!

The park staff will sponsor a carnival of water activities for all ages.  Activities will include paddle boats, swimming, water toss and surprise relays.
Wear swimwear, bring sunscreen.

Meet at the lake (Well, duh): 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. 

August 24

Native American Crafts

Brodie Davis, a forest ranger, will reveal the secrets of how Native Americans survived in the wilderness.  Brodie will share facts and fiction about the first inhabitants of this area.

Meet at the bathhouse: 10:00 AM - Noon

September 27

Cooperative Games & Team Building

Naomi and Doug Moore will lead participants in non-competitive and all inclusive games for all ages.  Bring water and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Meet at the bathhouse at 10 a.m.-11 p.m.

October 25

Trail Maintenance

The Park Rangers will lead participants in helping to maintain the trails.  Bring bottled water and work gloves.

Meet at Sulphur Springs Picnic Area. 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

November

Math in Nature

Marge Scieszka, math specialist in Anderson County, will lead participants in a series of math problem solving activities related to nature and manmade items found in the park.  Explore the world of nature through math.

Meet at the bathhouse.  10 a.m.-Noon

December 6

Arbor Day

Cathy Taylor, Park interpreter, will provide trees for participants to plant in the park.  Trees will be planted in a number of areas to enhance the natural beauty of the park.  Bring water and work gloves.

Meet at Shelter 1:  10:00 a.m. - Noon

January 24, 2004

Friends Annual Meeting

Wine and cheese will be served followed by dinner. Please bring a salad or drink and everything else will be furnished. New board members will be introduced.

Meet at Buckhorn at 5 p.m.

February 28, 2004

Forest Ecology

Cathy Taylor, Park interpreter, will present a program to help participants develop an appreciation of woodland habitats.

Meet at Bathhouse:  10:00 a.m. - Noon

March 27, 2004

Go GREEN

Park staff will present a program to discover simple, inexpensive products and supplies that help to keep our environment GREEN.  Save money and save the environment.

Meet at Bathhouse:  10:00 a.m. - Noon

Annual Friends Day Celebration

e'll have many of the events back from last year and a lot of new ones: educational booths,  music, Subway Subs and EarthFare Smoothies and a lot of canoes!  Plus, runs up the mountain and walks around the lake and more

Hours are 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
