Activities include measuring temperature and pH, and exploring food web roles. This is the program offered to fifth grade classes, but anyone can come be a student on this 4th Saturday! Teachers can receive in-service credit for attending.

At 1 p.m.:
1 ½ hour program
Clues to the Past hike

Join our Interpretive Ranger on a walk around Lake Placid. She will help reveal many clues to the past, from geological history, to the story behind the dam built in the late 1800s, to the structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Even fallen trees have a story to tell of past times at Paris Mountain State Park, revealed in their rings. Try to find all the clues on your scavenger hunt sheet on this 1-mile walk around Lake Placid and nearby paths.

Paris Mountain State Park is located on S.C. 253 (State Park Road), six miles north of downtown Greenville.

Both of the above programs are free.

Admission to the park is $2.00 for ages 16 – 64, $1.50 for S.C. seniors and disabled persons.
